Contract Police Report: February 2-9, 2009

February 13, 2009

2/2 Contract officer observed a suspicious person at Lackawanna Street at 53rd Ave. Suspicious person was checked for open warrants with negative results and SOW.

2/2 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Warm-Up Initiative) in the Berwyn Community. 5 citations were issued.

2/3 Contract officer responded to a call for service at Baltimore Ave at Cherokee Street for a suspicious vehicle. Contract officer located the vehicle and was assisted by the beat officer. The driver and passenger were arrested for possession of marijuana and a 9mm handgun.

2/4 Contract officer observed a suspicious person at 5010 Branchville Road (Budget Inn). A field interview was conducted and the suspicious person was checked for open warrants with negative results and SOW.

2/4 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Edgewood Road at 53rd Ave. 6 citations were issued

2/5 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop at Baltimore Ave at Lehigh Road. The driver was placed under arrest for possession of MDMA Pills and cocaine.

2/5 Contract officer responded to a call for service at 5000 block Berwyn Road for a residential B&E. Incident verified-suspect entered through an unlocked basement window.

2/5 Contract officer responded to a call for service at 10000 block Baltimore Ave for a report of a carjacking. Incident verified-assisted the beat officer

2/6 Contract officer assisted the beat officer with a vehicle wanted in a Hit and Run Accident. The driver was placed under arrest at Kenilworth Ave at Paint Branch Parkway.

2/7 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop at Greenbelt Road at Metzerott Road and placed the driver under arrest for DWI and Failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

2/8 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Calvert Road at Princeton Ave. 3 warning citations were issued

2/8 Contract officer observed a traffic violation at Berwyn Road at 49th Ave and conducted a traffic stop in the 8700 block of Baltimore Ave. The driver along with 2 passengers were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.

2/9 Contract officer was contacted by City Hall in reference to dirt bikes racing at 4800 block Osage Street. The driver was cited.

2/9 Contract officer and beat officer responded to a call for service at 8600 block Baltimore Ave for a report of an abduction. Incident not verified-occupant was placed under arrest for possession of CDS.

1/27 Contract officer responded to a call for service at 4900 block Greenbelt Road (Village Pump Liquors) for a report of a robbery. Incident verified and the contract officer assisted the beat officer.

1/28 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop in the 8000 block of Baltimore Ave. The driver was placed under arrest for a suspended license and an open warrant.

1/28 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop in the 9600 block of Baltimore Ave. The female driver (prostitute) was placed under arrest for a traffic offense.

1/28 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Red Light Enforcement) at Greenbelt Road at Rhode Island Ave. 3 citations were issued.

1/30 Contract officer was on routine patrol and observed a suspicious person near the Budget Inn at Branchville Road at 51st Ave. The suspicious person was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant for PWID.

1/30 Contract officer observed (smelled the odor of marijuana) several suspicious persons at 9200 block Wofford Lane and conducted a field interview. Suspicious persons were checked for open warrants with negative results and SOW.

1/31 Contract officer observed several persons loitering on the parking lot at 5000 block Branchville Road. Suspicious persons were checked for open warrants with negative results and SOW.

2/01 Contract officer observed a suspicious vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at Lakeland Ave at Rhode Island Ave. The driver attempted to elude the officer but was stopped. The driver was placed under arrest for possession of cocaine.

2/01 Contract officer observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop at Greenbelt Road at Metzerott Road. The driver and passenger were placed under arrest for PWID, 404grams of marijuana, crack cocaine, and possession of stolen property.

1/23 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop at Adelphi Road at Metzerott Road. The driver pulled into the parking lot and fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the driver was apprehended and placed under arrest for several traffic violations.

1/25 Contract officer conducted speed enforcement at Baltimore Ave at Greenbelt Road. 7 citations were issued.

1/25 Contract officer responded to a call for service at Baltimore Ave at Navahoe Street for a report of a suspicious person. The suspicious person was located and placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant.
